Ministerial Regulations for GAP standards for pig farms

Ministerial Regulations for GAP standards for pig farms have been published in the Government Gazette.

 

Government Gazette Announcement Ministerial Regulations Prescribing Agricultural Standards For good agricultural practices for pig farms is a mandatory standard B.E. 2566

Power under Section 5 paragraph one and Section 15 paragraph two of the Act. 2551 (2008), the Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives hereby issues the following Ministerial Regulations

 

Clause 1 

This Ministerial Regulation shall apply to pig farms that are not accredited pig farms. Raising organic livestock and pit pigs from the Department of Livestock Development which raise fattening pigs from 500 to 1,499 pigs or breeding pigs from 95 to 119 pigs 

 

after one hundred and eighty days from the date of publication in the Government Gazette Except for the raising of fattening pigs from 1,500 heads or more or breeding pigs from 120 heads up, this shall come into force after ninety days from the date of its publication in the Government Gazette.

 

Clause 2

Agricultural Standard No. TAS 6403 – 2565 under the Notification of the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives on the Establishment of Agricultural Standards: Good Agricultural Practices for Pig Farms. According to the Agricultural Standards Act B.E. 2551 dated 3 February 2022 as a mandatory standard given on 18 January 2023

The reason for promulgating this Ministerial Regulation is that at present, pig farming is popular with many Thai farmers. both raised for consumption or commercial purposes Therefore, it is necessary to raise standards of good agricultural practices for pig farms that raise 500 or more fattening pigs

or raise 95 sows or more so that consumers can be confident in the safety of pig meat and Pig products to prevent health problems Effective prevention and control of major epidemics in swine Reduce environmental impact problems And increase the potential of the production and trade of swine products in Thailand sustainably.

 

In this regard, the announcement of the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives regarding the establishment of Thai Agricultural Standard: Good Agricultural Practices for Pig Farms has been issued. According to the Agricultural Standards 

 

Act B.E. 2551, dated 3 February 2565 and has conducted a hearing of representatives of stakeholders or interested parties in accordance with Section 18 of the Agricultural Standards Act B.E. 2008, it is expedient to establish the Thai Agricultural Standard for Good Agricultural Practices for Swine Farms as a mandatory standard. It is therefore necessary to issue this Ministerial Regulation.
